Friedenslicht 2025: Where to Collect in Vienna
In Vienna, the annual tradition of collecting the Friedenslicht, or Peace Light, continues in 2025. On December 24, the Peace Light will be available at all main fire stations of the Vienna Fire Department from 9 AM to 12 PM.
Where to Collect the Friedenslicht in Vienna
The central fire station, located at Am Hof 7 in the 1st district, will also operate the Fire Museum during these hours. Visitors can engage in activities while awaiting the arrival of Christkind.
Those interested in taking the Friedenslicht home are encouraged to bring their own lanterns.
Fire Museum Information
The Vienna Fire Museum, located at Am Hof 7, has specific opening hours:
- Tuesday: 2 PM – 5 PM
- Sunday and Public Holidays: 9 AM – 12 PM
During the Christmas holidays, the museum will open on:
- December 24 – 26
- December 28 and 31
- January 4 and 6
The museum will remain closed on December 23 and 30, as well as January 1, 2026. Admission is free.
