Chidobe Awuzie Joins Ravens Practice Session
Chidobe Awuzie, the Ravens cornerback, participated in practice on Friday. This development raises hopes for his availability in the crucial Week 16 matchup against the New England Patriots. Despite the positive news, Ravens Head Coach John Harbaugh noted that Awuzie was still limited during practice sessions.
Chidobe Awuzie’s Status
Coach Harbaugh expressed uncertainty regarding Awuzie’s fitness, stating, “I think Chido is going to be iffy. We’ll have to see how it goes up until the game.” Awuzie had sustained a foot injury during the previous week’s game in Cincinnati. He has demonstrated strong performance this season, securing the fifth-highest Pro Football Focus grade among NFL cornerbacks who have participated in over half of their team’s defensive plays.
Ravens Injury Report
As the Ravens prepare for the upcoming game, the injury report shows a generally healthy roster. Only two players were absent from Friday’s practice:
- John Jenkins (defensive lineman) – sidelined with an illness
- Teddye Buchanan (rookie linebacker) – out for the season due to a knee injury sustained in Cincinnati
In light of Buchanan’s injury, Trenton Simpson is set to fill the starting position. His coaches and teammate Roquan Smith have expressed confidence in his capabilities.
Other Player Updates
Meanwhile, several key players who were limited during Thursday’s practice returned to the field on Friday:
- Ronnie Stanley (left tackle) – knee/ankle issues
- Tyler Linderbaum (center) – knee issue
- Kyle Van Noy (outside linebacker) – quad injury
As game day approaches, the Ravens will continue to assess Awuzie’s condition to determine his readiness to contribute against the Patriots.
