South Florida Football has made significant coaching changes as Head Coach Brian Hartline announced the appointments of Tim Beck and Mike Hartline. Beck will serve as the Bulls’ offensive coordinator, while Mike Hartline takes on the role of quarterbacks coach.

Tim Beck comes to USF after three successful years as the head coach at Coastal Carolina. Over his tenure, he led the Chanticleers to three bowl game appearances, finishing with an impressive record of 8–5 in 2023. His extensive coaching background includes 12 seasons as an offensive coordinator at prestigious programs such as Nebraska, Ohio State, Texas, and North Carolina State.

Coaching Experience: 37 years in coaching, including 18 years at the Power 5 level.

At North Carolina State, Beck’s leadership contributed to three back-to-back seasons with eight or more wins. His offense consistently ranked in the upper half of the ACC, highlighting his effectiveness as a coordinator.

Quarterbacks Coach Mike Hartline

Mike Hartline, a former Kentucky quarterback, joined the Bulls following a season with Coastal Carolina. He brings extensive coaching experience, having worked at various institutions, including Ohio State and Auburn. Hartline played at Kentucky, amassing over 5,600 passing yards and 38 touchdowns during his career.

Coaching Experience: Over 10 years across seven different programs, including Ohio State and Cincinnati.
Career Path: Served as an offensive analyst and spent time developing quarterbacks effectively.

The University of South Florida football program began in 1997 and is entering its 29th season. In 2025, the Bulls achieved a notable record of 9–4, marking their third consecutive bowl appearance. They ranked in the AP Top 25 poll multiple times, paving the way for enhancements to their facilities, including a new $22-million Indoor Performance Facility.
