Maresca Addresses Manchester City Speculation
During a pre-match press conference, Maresca described the rumors as “100 percent speculation.” He highlighted his commitment to Chelsea, stating he has a contract that extends until 2029. “My focus is just about this club, and I’m very proud to be here,” he remarked.
Maresca previously served as both head coach of Manchester City’s Elite Development Squad and as an assistant under Pep Guardiola. He took over as Chelsea’s head coach on July 1, 2024, following his tenure at Leicester City, which began in June 2023.
Guardiola Discusses His Future
Pep Guardiola also addressed questions about his future at Manchester City during a press conference ahead of their upcoming match against West Ham United. He acknowledged that discussions about succession are currently “not on the table.” With 18 months remaining on his contract, Guardiola stated he is satisfied with the team’s performance and development.
“I will not be here forever, but whatever is going to happen will happen,” he said. Guardiola acknowledged that speculation about his future arises every season but stressed that his main focus is on upcoming matches and immediate goals.
