Unanimous Decision Boosts Vanderbilt Football

Vanderbilt University’s football program has received a significant boost with the recent recognition of Eli Stowers. The NCAA announced the Consensus All-America team, featuring Stowers as one of the 13 unanimous selections this season. This achievement positions him as one of only three players from the Southeastern Conference (SEC) to earn this honor, highlighting his exceptional performance.

Eli Stowers: A Historic Accomplishment

Eli Stowers stands out as the sole offensive player from the SEC to receive unanimous All-America honors this year. His accolades include being named first-team All-America tight end by esteemed organizations such as the Walter Camp Football Foundation and the Associated Press. This recognition marks him as the first Commodore to achieve unanimous All-America selection since Zach Cunningham in 2016.

Notable Awards and Statistics

Stowers has also made history by winning the William V. Campbell Trophy®, awarded to the premier scholar-athlete in college football, and the John Mackey Award, recognizing the best tight end nationally. The Denton, Texas native led the nation in receiving yards among tight ends with 769 yards this season and ranked second in catches with 62 receptions.

  • Receiving Yards: 769 yards
  • Catches: 62 receptions
  • Touchdowns: 4 touchdowns
  • First Down Receptions: 38 receptions
