Philadelphia’s New Year’s Eve Concert: Road Closures and Fireworks Details Announced
Philadelphia’s New Year’s Eve concert, a highlight marking the lead-up to the nation’s 250th birthday, will take place on December 31, 2025. City officials, including Mayor Cherelle Parker, have announced details regarding the celebratory event, featuring a star-studded lineup of performers such as LL Cool J, DJ Jazzy Jeff, and Adam Blackstone.
Concert and Fireworks Details
The concert is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. at Eakins Oval, with the traditional fireworks display set for midnight. Gates will open at 6 p.m., and entry will be free of charge. Attendees must enter through Binswanger Triangle, located at 22nd Street and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, where they will pass through a security checkpoint. All bags will be subject to inspection.
Fireworks Launch Changes
This year’s fireworks will be a spectacular display, launched from three separate barges on the Delaware River. This adjustment aims to enhance the viewing experience for attendees.

Significant road closures will be in effect on December 31. The following streets will close starting at 8 a.m. and remain closed until 6 a.m. on January 1:
- Inner lanes of Benjamin Franklin Parkway from 20th Street to Eakins Oval
- Outbound outer lanes from 22nd Street to Eakins Oval
- Eakins Oval (all lanes)
- Spring Garden Street between Pennsylvania Avenue and 31st Street
- 23rd Street between Pennsylvania Avenue and Eakins Oval
Other closures will begin at 12 p.m. and last until 1 a.m. the following day:
- Kelly Drive from Fairmount Avenue to Fountain Green Drive
Further road closures for public safety reasons will be implemented starting at 10 p.m. on December 31:
- Lemon Hill Drive
- Sedgley Drive
- Waterworks Drive
- Poplar Drive
Parking Guidelines
Specific areas will be designated as “Temporary No Parking” zones. Motorists are advised to observe the posted signs, particularly:
- 2200 – 2300 Park Towne Place (north side)
- 2200 Pennsylvania Avenue (south side)
