The news of her passing was shared by Precinct 4 Commissioner Tommy Calvert on social media. He expressed sorrow over her loss and called for the precinct’s office flag to be flown at half-staff for nine days in her honor.
Tributes poured in from various leaders. Precinct 4 Constable Kat Brown remembered Garcia for her “service, compassion, and resilience.” On social media, Brown stated, “Heaven has surely gained a beautiful and courageous angel.”
