Gwyneth Paltrow Celebrates Boxing Day Despite Chris Martin Divorce
Gwyneth Paltrow continues to celebrate Boxing Day each year, even though she no longer resides in the U.K. The actress, known for her role in *Shakespeare in Love*, previously lived in the U.K. during her marriage to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. They were married from 2003 until 2014 and have two children together, Apple and Moses, aged 21 and 19, respectively.
Boxing Day Traditions
Despite her current base in California, Paltrow maintains her Boxing Day traditions, which fall on December 26. During a conversation on the Goop podcast, she expressed her fondness for the holiday. She said, “We do kind of Boxing Day, which is a holdover from our days in the U.K. It involves gluttony, relaxation, and board games.”
Family Holiday Celebrations
Paltrow emphasized the importance of spending holidays with her children. “We celebrate Christmas and Hanukkah, and our Christmas mornings are filled with joy. We take our time opening presents, enjoy a long beach walk, and often stay in our pajamas,” she shared.
Christmas Spirit
As the festive season approaches, Paltrow expresses feelings of solitude. She enjoys immersing herself in holiday cheer, but her husband, Brad Falchuk, is less enthusiastic. “Brad is kind of a Grinch. He dislikes Christmas music, decorations, and traditional meals,” Paltrow revealed. Despite this, she finds comfort knowing her children share her love for the season.
Furthermore, after marrying Falchuk in 2018, she became the stepmother to his two children. She noted, “I feel very alone in my house in my love for Christmas, although all the kids love it.” This blend of families continues to celebrate the spirit of the holidays amid differing preferences.
