The Saguenéens de Chicoutimi have made a significant move to enhance their roster. They have acquired Jordan Tourigny, a 20-year-old defenseman, from the Shawinigan Cataractes. In return, they traded 18-year-old defenseman Jonathan Prud’homme. Additionally, a first-round pick in the 2027 draft will also be part of the transaction.

Jordan Tourigny Joins Chicoutimi

  • Jordan Tourigny has been a vital component of the Cataractes’ lineup for five seasons.
  • This season, he has achieved five goals and 18 assists in 28 games.
  • He was a member of the Shawinigan team that won the championship in 2022.

Tourigny, originally from Victoriaville, has an impressive career in the LHJMQ, totaling 176 points across 291 games. His experience and skills are expected to strengthen the Saguenéens’ defensive lineup.

Additional Transactions

In another move, the Saguenéens also acquired 18-year-old goaltender Lucas Beckman from the Baie-Comeau Drakkar. Chicoutimi traded 20-year-old defenseman Xavier Daigle in this exchange. This acquisition allowed General Manager and Head Coach Yanick Jean to further round out his squad with veteran talent.

Upcoming Matchup

Jordan Tourigny is set to make his first appearance for the Saguenéens this afternoon against the Armada in Blainville-Boisbriand. Fans can look forward to seeing how Tourigny and newly acquired players like Tomas Lavoie, Alexis Bernier, Mavrick Lachance, and Lucas Beckman perform in the game.
