Bin Collection Schedule Changes for New Year’s Week
During the week beginning December 29, 2025, households will not have their bins collected on the usual designated days. Here are the key dates for rubbish collections:
Collection Dates by Day
- Monday Collections: Households normally serviced on this day will receive a collection on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2025.
- Tuesday Collections: Residents who usually have collections on Tuesday will have theirs on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2026.
- Wednesday Collections: These will shift to Friday, January 2, 2026.
- Thursday Collections: Due to Christmas Day, residents will have collections on Monday, December 29, and again on Saturday, January 3, 2026.
- Friday Collections: Those who missed the Boxing Day collection will see their rubbish collected on Tuesday, December 30, and Sunday, January 4, 2026.
Regular collection schedules will resume on January 5, 2026. It’s vital for residents to follow these adjusted dates to ensure their waste is collected promptly.
Recycling Information
Recycling services continue to be suspended, so recyclable items should be placed in black bin bags with general rubbish. Residents with excess waste can utilize the city’s five household recycling centers, which will maintain extended hours during the holiday period.
