Three Arrested in Reno Shooting Near Summit Ridge Park
Reno police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred early Saturday morning, sending a teenager to the hospital and leading to multiple arrests. The situation unfolded around 4 a.m. on December 27, near Summit Ridge Park.
Shooting Incident Details
Police received multiple reports of gunfire in the 900 block of Skyway Drive. Witnesses reported seeing a vehicle pursuing an individual through the park.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers noticed a car speeding away. The vehicle was intercepted near the intersection of 3rd Street and Vine Street.
Injuries and Medical Aid
- A 17-year-old juvenile was found inside the car with a gunshot wound.
- Officers provided immediate medical assistance before the teenager was transported to a local hospital.
- The injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Arrests and Charges
Inside the vehicle, police discovered several firearms, including one with an obliterated serial number. As a result, three individuals were detained:
- Javier Casildo-Rios (21): Charged with obliterating a firearm’s serial number, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, obstructing and resisting police, and reckless driving.
- Joran Chaudhary (18): Arrested for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
- Unnamed 16-year-old juvenile: Charged with obstructing and resisting police.
