Bally’s Casino Robbery and Bathroom Assault Heighten Safety Concerns
Concerns about safety at Bally’s Casino in Chicago have escalated following two criminal incidents within a week. An armed robbery in the parking garage and a separate assault in the bathroom have prompted discussions about increased security measures.
Bally’s Casino Armed Robbery Incident
On a recent Tuesday, two men, aged 21, narrowly avoided an armed robbery in the casino’s parking garage around 1 a.m. Gabe Klein and his friend encountered a masked gunman as they exited an elevator. The suspect demanded they remove their coats and look down.
Reacting quickly, Klein’s friend pressed the elevator’s close button, enabling their escape to the 11th floor, where they contacted law enforcement. While Klein confirmed that they were threatened, it remains unreported whether another individual, a 31-year-old man present, was similarly victimized.
Safety Concerns Voiced by Victims
Klein expressed serious concerns regarding the safety of casino patrons. He stated that comprehensive safety measures are vital to ensure visitors feel secure upon entering the facility. “Otherwise, you’re going to lose all of our business,” he warned.
Bathroom Assault and Robbery
Adding to the security fears, a separate robbery occurred inside a casino bathroom early Monday morning. At approximately 2 a.m., two men assaulted and robbed another individual. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with this incident.
Bally’s Response and Future Actions
A spokesperson for Bally’s Casino acknowledged the bathroom robbery but refrained from commenting on the armed robbery case. The representative emphasized that safety remains a top priority for the casino and that they are collaborating with law enforcement to address these incidents.
These events have raised significant concerns about the effectiveness of current safety protocols at Bally’s Casino, prompting calls for enhanced security measures to protect patrons.
