Preparations for the Winter Classic
NHL officials conducted a test run by opening the sliding glass panels and the retractable roof at loanDepot park. Dean Matsuzaki, NHL executive vice president of events, described the moment as a countdown, resulting in a humorous scene where palm trees and flamingos were displaced but nothing serious occurred.
Weather Conditions
The temperature was measured at 58 degrees Fahrenheit when the roof was opened, remaining stable at this level throughout the test. This ambient temperature is typical for NHL indoor games.
