Suzuki to Represent Canada at Milan-Cortina

Hockey Canada has officially announced its roster for the Milan-Cortina Olympic Games, scheduled for February. The new lineup features notable changes following the Four Nations competition.

Nick Suzuki Joins Team Canada

One of the most significant additions is Nick Suzuki, captain of the Montreal Canadiens. At 26, Suzuki leads with an impressive record of 13 goals and 31 assists, totaling 44 points across 39 games. He ranks ninth in the NHL in assists, tied with players like Martin Necas and Mitch Marner.

Young Talent Takes the Stage

• Macklin Celebrini, 19, becomes the youngest player in Canada’s Olympic history.
• Celebrini has recorded 21 goals and 60 points in 39 games this season.
• His performance puts him in the elite company of players like Nathan MacKinnon and Connor McDavid.

Returning Players and New Faces

Tom Wilson and Bo Horvat are also new additions to the Canadian team. Wilson has scored 19 goals and collected 37 points this season, while Horvat ranks among the NHL’s top scorers with 21 goals, sharing the ninth position with Celebrini and Sidney Crosby.

Unfortunately, Connor Bedard, another young star, will miss the Olympics due to a shoulder injury sustained in December. Prior to his injury, he had posted 19 goals and 44 points in 31 games.

Goalkeepers Backing the Defense

This year’s goaltending lineup is notably different. Jordan Binnington is the only returning goalkeeper after a challenging season with the St. Louis Blues. He previously guided Canada to victory in the finals against the U.S.

He will be joined by Darcy Kuemper and Logan Thompson, as Samuel Montembeault and Adin Hill make way for the new faces.

Team Canada’s first Olympic match is scheduled for February 12 against the Czech Republic.
