Severe Cold, Rain, and Marine Disruption Predicted for Tomorrow in Cairo

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority has forecasted severe cold weather for Thursday, January 1, 2026. The temperatures will be particularly low in the early morning, with a gradual warming expected during the day. However, nights will remain extremely chilly across most regions.

Predicted Weather Conditions

Dense fog is anticipated, especially between 3 AM and 10 AM on various roads leading to and from northern areas, including Greater Cairo, northern Upper Egypt, and central Sinai. Visibility may be significantly reduced on these routes.

Rainfall Forecast

There is a medium chance of rain across the northern coasts and northern Lower Egypt, which may intensify occasionally. Light to moderate rains are also expected in southern Lower Egypt and canal cities intermittently.

Marine Conditions

Marine navigation could face disruption along parts of the Mediterranean coast. This affects areas such as Matrouh, Alamein, Alexandria, Beheira, Kafr El Sheikh, Dakahlia, Damietta, Port Said, and Arish. Wind speeds are expected to range from 40 to 60 km/h with wave heights reaching up to 3.5 meters.
