Jim Donio from the organization reported that unstable weather conditions caused props to become airborne, damaging several items and injuring attendees, with one individual hospitalized from a flying nail.

Despite the delay in the competition, the parade marched on, showcasing performances from various clubs that had rehearsed throughout the year. Participants expressed their commitment to the tradition. “We prefer doing it on New Year’s Day because that’s what it’s for. It’s for bringing in the new year with a big bang,” said Michael, a dedicated participant.

These are my babies. We love it; we come down every year.”
