Lagos CP Directs SCID to Investigate Pastor Okafor’s Sex Scandal Allegations
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, has instructed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to investigate serious allegations against Pastor Chris Okafor. The Senior Pastor of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries is accused of multiple sexual misconduct incidents, sparking widespread outrage on social media.
Lagos CP Orders Investigation into Pastor Okafor’s Allegations
The controversy gained traction after several women, including Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, made claims against Okafor. These allegations prompted the pastor to step down from his pastoral duties on New Year’s Day.
Public Apology and Recent Developments
During a church service, Okafor publicly apologized to Ogala for past “mistakes.” He knelt at the pulpit seeking forgiveness, attempting to address the growing discontent among his congregation.
The allegations intensified following his wedding to Pearl on December 16, 2025. The ceremony was attended by numerous prominent clerics, but the fallout from the accusations overshadowed this event.
Police Response and Investigation
Abimbola Adebisi, spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, initially reported there had been no formal complaints against Okafor. Nonetheless, the situation has escalated, leading CP Jimoh to direct the SCID to invite the pastor for questioning. This action comes despite the absence of official reports from any of the alleged victims.
- The CP has ordered the SCID to interview alleged victims and witnesses.
- Adebisi reached out to social media influencers for further investigation.
Allegations Emerge from Multiple Sources
The accusations against Pastor Okafor began circulating on December 14, 2025. Ogala posted emotional videos on social media, detailing a sexual relationship with the pastor that allegedly began in 2017.
- Ogala claims the relationship lasted for nine years.
- She alleges that Okafor promised her marriage multiple times.
- Ogala accuses the pastor of emotional distress, financial loss, and manipulation.
In her videos, Ogala also alleged that Pastor Okafor shared explicit material of her and coerced her into retracting her statements by offering $10,000. She later filed a legal notice seeking N1 billion in damages due to threats and intimidation.
Further Allegations and Community Response
As the scandal continued to unfold, additional women stepped forward, voicing similar allegations of manipulation and misconduct against Okafor. Among them was his former wife, Bessem Okafor, who accused him of infidelity and physical abuse.
While many allegations have surfaced, some church members have dismissed these claims. They describe the accusations as desperate attempts by individuals aiming to extort money from their pastor.
