Caroline Stanton Signs with Softball Team for 2026 Season

Caroline Stanton, a highly regarded softball talent, has officially signed with the Florida Gators for the upcoming 2026 season. This decision comes after her early enrollment this semester, following her athletics aid agreement made on National Signing Day in November. Stanton has been recognized as the top recruit for her class by Softball America.

Stanton’s Early Enrollment and Redshirt Plan

Stanton will redshirt during the 2026 season, which allows her more time to acclimate and train with the Gators. Head coach Tim Walton expressed his enthusiasm about her commitment, emphasizing the unique opportunity for the team. “Having her in the dugout will be instrumental as she learns and supports her teammates,” Walton stated.

High School Achievements

Stanton recently celebrated her third Georgia 6A State Championship at Buford High School, where she graduated in December. Notably, she holds the Buford single-game strikeout record, with an impressive total of 20 strikeouts in a single game.

International Experience

In addition to her domestic success, Stanton has international accolades. She earned a gold medal with Team USA at the 2025 World Baseball Softball Confederation U-18 World Cup Finals held in Oklahoma City. Throughout the tournament, she pitched 17.0 innings, achieved 10 strikeouts, and maintained a remarkable 0.82 ERA, also receiving the Best Defensive Player award.
