The revamped platform replaces the older FedScope system, which had been criticized for outdated data management. The new website enables users to access and filter comprehensive workforce data by various parameters, including:

Workforce Trends and Statistics

The latest data reveals significant changes in federal workforce dynamics. Notably, as of January 2026, government staffing levels are reported to be at their lowest in a decade. The OPM data indicates a reduction of over 300,000 federal employees in the previous year, leading to a net loss of approximately 220,000 federal employees since January 2025.

In addition to these staffing changes, the data highlights a striking decrease in union representation among federal employees.
