The Cleveland Browns are actively seeking a new head coach and have scheduled an interview with Todd Monken, currently serving as the offensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens. This meeting is set to take place on Saturday, making Monken the fifth candidate to be considered for the role.

Todd Monken’s Coaching Background
Todd Monken, 59, brings a wealth of experience to the table. He has been with the Ravens since 2023, contributing to a notable improvement in their offensive efficiency. During his first two seasons, Monken’s offense achieved impressive statistics:

Previous Tenure with the Browns
Monken’s familiarity with the Browns comes from his previous role as their offensive coordinator in 2019. During that season, he managed a unit that included star running back Nick Chubb, who amassed 1,494 rushing yards and scored eight touchdowns. Quarterback Baker Mayfield also thrived under Monken, setting a career high with 3,827 passing yards and 22 touchdowns.
Notable Achievements in Tampa Bay
Prior to his time in Cleveland, Monken led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ offense from 2016 to 2018. Under his guidance, the Buccaneers had the highest passing offense in the NFL, averaging 320.3 yards per game. They also finished third in total offense, with a remarkable 514.5 yards per game.
Extensive Coaching Experience
Monken’s coaching career spans 37 years, including 11 years in the NFL. His roles have varied widely, having served as an offensive coordinator for seven seasons and a wide receivers coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars. In addition to his NFL experience, Monken coached at the collegiate level for 26 years. He was the head coach at Southern Miss from 2013 to 2015 and held the offensive coordinator position at the University of Georgia from 2020 to 2022.
Monken began his coaching journey as a graduate assistant at Grand Valley State and was also recognized as a three-year letterman quarterback at Knox College.
