Milan’s renowned modern trattoria is set to host a unique one-night event in New York at Roscioli. Scheduled for Monday, February 2, this pop-up will feature the culinary expertise of Chef Diego Rossi from Trippa, a restaurant known for its influence on the Milan dining scene since 2015.

Milan’s Iconic Trattoria Takes New York by Storm

Trippa has earned a reputation for its always-booked reservations, attributed to limited seating and its innovative menu. Chef Rossi’s approach combines Michelin-star quality with a casual atmosphere, focusing on Milanese traditions and seasonal produce. Signature dishes often include offal and regional pasta, showcasing the essence of Milan’s culinary heritage.

A Celebration of Gourmet Italian Cuisine

This special pop-up dinner will be priced at $95 per person, with an optional wine pairing available for $55. Guests can look forward to a menu that features both beloved Trippa classics and new culinary creations made exclusively for this event. Highlights of the menu include:

  • Beef tartare with Sardo di Lago and Parmigiano.
  • Tagliatelle with lamb ragu.

Trippa’s previous collaboration with Roscioli in 2024 allowed the New York venue to incorporate Chef Rossi’s renowned vitello tonnato into its permanent menu. This partnership underscores the lasting friendship between the two kitchens, with Roscioli’s culinary director, Taylor Hester, having recently spent time in Milan cooking alongside Trippa’s team.

Reservations for this highly-anticipated evening open today, Friday, January 9, and can be made through DoorDash Reservations. Diners are encouraged to act quickly, as this event is expected to sell out rapidly due to the popularity of Chef Rossi and Trippa’s iconic dishes.

What’s New in New York’s Dining Scene

In addition to Trippa’s pop-up, the New York dining scene is experiencing various exciting developments. Good Enough to Eat, located at 520 Columbus Avenue, has transitioned to offer Caribbean cuisine under the guidance of Kingsley John from St Lucia. The menu features items such as:

  • Jamaican patties (goat, beef, or vegetable).
  • Curried chickpeas.
  • Oxtail lasagna.
  • Jerk chicken.

This Caribbean dining establishment is open seven days a week from 5 to 10 p.m.

Meanwhile, a new sushi flagship location for Bondi Sushi has opened across from Bryant Park at 461 Fifth Avenue, offering expanded seating and a full-service dining experience. This ambitious new site is part of Bondi Sushi’s growing presence, which includes 12 locations across New York and Miami. It operates seven days a week for lunch and dinner, making it a convenient spot for sushi lovers.
