A key focus of the assembly was a research study regarding the working conditions of state health workers in Paraná. Some alarming statistics emerged:
- 63% reported an inadequate number of workers at their workplace.
- 58% experienced incidents of violence or harassment.
- 241 participants identified their stress levels at work as elevated.

Goals for 2026
Additions to the agenda for 2026 include the negotiation period for salary adjustments, including a salary deficit of over 45%. Other demands include:
- Reinstatement of the Health Activity Bonus (GAS) with a 55% loss since last adjustment.
- Ending the pension confiscation affecting retirees.
- Salary table corrections across all job levels, particularly for entry-level positions.
- Conducting a public competition to fill a shortfall of an estimated 4,000 positions in public health.
Upcoming Public Competition
The state health department (SESA) recently announced a new public competition with 641 available positions. Applications will be accepted until February 12. The roles include:
- 325 positions for health professionals across various fields like nursing, medicine, and psychology.
- 316 vacancies for nursing technicians, laboratory technicians, and safety technicians.
Continued Advocacy for Workplace Improvement
Moving into 2026, the SindSaúde-PR will prioritize advocating for workers’ rights. This includes addressing workplace harassment, improving stress management, and enhancing facilities. Giordano reported that the approach will involve organized pressure tactics paired with formal negotiations, emphasizing collective decision-making.
