LA28 Olympics Announces Ticket Purchase Windows
The LA28 Olympics is set to usher in ticket purchasing opportunities with registration now open. Starting from March 18, fans can secure their place at the Games through an organized ticketing system. The purchasing windows are carefully crafted to ensure accessibility for local residents and a broader audience.
Ticket Registration Details
Registration for tickets began on a Wednesday morning at 7 a.m. PST. Fans are encouraged to register at la28.org. Those who sign up now can begin purchasing tickets starting April 2, 2024.
Purchasing Windows
The first ticket purchasing window will be from April 2 to April 6. This window exclusively caters to residents near the venue cities in Southern California and Oklahoma City. Following this, the general public will have access to ticket sales from April 9 to April 19.
- April 2–6: Local residents in designated areas
- April 9–19: General public ticket sales
Registration participants from counties such as Los Angeles, Orange, and Riverside will be required to input their ZIP Codes to qualify for the local presale. It is crucial that they use local ZIP Codes for billing during the purchasing process.
Anticipated Demand and Notification Process
The ticket registration platform experienced significant demand upon opening, with delays reported as some fans faced over an hour to process their requests. Notifications regarding assigned time slots will begin on March 31 via email.
Ticket Purchase Information
Fans will be able to purchase up to 12 tickets per event. If they do not reach the maximum during their designated time, they will automatically be entered into subsequent draws. Registration is a single process, even for Paralympic tickets, which will be available in 2027.
Pricing Structure
Ticket prices are set to cater to various budgets. The lowest single-event ticket will start at $28. Out of 14 million available tickets, one million will be set at this price point. Approximately one-third of all tickets will be priced below $100, with specific details to be announced in April.
Event Timeline
The LA28 Olympics will commence on July 14, 2028, featuring a dual-venue opening ceremony at the iconic Coliseum and SoFi Stadium. Events will be distributed across Southern California, extending to both Los Angeles and Orange counties.
- Key locations include:
- Long Beach: Second-most Olympic events
- Oklahoma City: Softball and canoe slalom events
The Paralympics, which will be held in Los Angeles for the first time, are slated to begin on August 15, 2028.
