FBI Arrests Suspect After Protesters Hit Unmarked Federal Vehicles
The FBI has confirmed the arrest of a suspect following protests in north Minneapolis that led to vandalism of unmarked federal vehicles. The protests erupted on a Wednesday evening after an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent injured a man during a shooting incident.
Details of the Arrest
FBI Director Kash Patel announced the arrest on Thursday evening, identifying the suspect as a member of the Latin Kings gang with a documented history of violence. Although the individual’s name has not been disclosed, Patel indicated that further arrests are anticipated.
Protest Events
The unrest began shortly after the shooting incident involving an ICE agent. Eyewitnesses reported a group of protesters vandalizing two parked, unmarked FBI vehicles in the area.
Vandalism and Theft
Protesters reportedly breached the vehicles, forcibly removing a large lockbox from one trunk while attempting to access its contents. They succeeded in opening a second vehicle, which was found emptied. A protester claimed the lockbox contained sensitive documents related to the U.S. Marshals Service.
