Initially, McGregor was set to face Michael Chandler. The two fighters had previously coached against each other on “The Ultimate Fighter” but never competed in the octagon.

However, a toe injury during training hindered the fight from happening. UFC CEO Dana White recently dismissed the possibility of McGregor facing Chandler, stating, “No, that was a couple of years ago.”
