42 Players Granted Special Eligibility for 2026 NFL Draft
The NFL has revealed that 42 players have been granted special eligibility for the 2026 NFL Draft, alongside 21 underclassmen who have completed their degree requirements but still possess remaining college football eligibility. The draft will take place from April 23-25, 2026, in Pittsburgh.
Eligibility Details for the 2026 NFL Draft
To assist players and all-star game organizers, a new early “soft” eligibility deadline was established for January 5, allowing players to apply sooner. Sixteen athletes submitted their petitions by this date. The traditional deadline for applications was set for January 14, by which 26 additional players also sought special eligibility.
Championship Game Considerations
The announced list does not include athletes competing in the FBS National Championship Game on January 19. To accommodate these players, an additional “Championship” deadline has been set for January 23.
