Renowned London Art Gallery Offers Free Yoga Classes in Exhibitions

As the winter months approach, it is essential to find activities that contribute to mental well-being. To combat the January blues, Tate Britain is hosting a series of free wellness activities, including yoga sessions in its exhibition galleries.

Free Yoga Classes at Tate Britain

Starting January 16 and running until January 24, 2024, Tate Britain is partnering with MoreYoga, a prominent London yoga studio, to provide free yoga classes. These classes are designed to energize and calm participants during the winter.

Class Schedule

  • Energizing Sessions: January 16, 21, and 24, from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM
  • Calming Sessions: January 20 and 22, from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM

Classes will take place in Room 8, allowing participants to practice yoga surrounded by remarkable works of art, including John William Waterhouse’s “The Lady of Shalott” and John Singer Sargent’s “Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose.”

Additional Wellness Activities

Tate Britain’s Wellness Week also features various activities, including:

  • Life-drawing sessions hosted by 2B or Not 2B
  • Complimentary coffee at the Djanogly Cafe

To participate in these activities, individuals must be signed up for the Tate Collective, which is free for members aged 16 to 25. Membership grants participants access to all Tate exhibitions for just £5 and provides discounts in the gallery shops and cafes.

How to Join

Free tickets for yoga and life-drawing sessions will be available starting at 1 PM on January 15, 2024. Interested individuals can sign up and claim their tickets through the Tate website.

Participating in these engaging and health-focused events can help transform the often dreary January into an uplifting experience. Join the Tate Collective for a chance to enjoy these wellness opportunities and embrace a healthier lifestyle.
