Samsung Unveils New Galaxy S26 Models Ahead of Launch by Mistake

Samsung has inadvertently confirmed details about the upcoming Galaxy S26 lineup. The company’s promotional materials show that three models will be unveiled during the Galaxy Unpacked event next month. These models are the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Galaxy S26 Models Confirmed

The confirmation came from a promotional document released by Samsung Colombia. This document outlines a special financing plan for select Galaxy phones, labeling the three new models as eligible for a 0% interest deal with local credit cards.

  • Galaxy S26 Plus
  • Galaxy S26 Ultra

This marks the first official announcement of the specific names and models intended for release in February.

Previous Rumors and Changes

Initially, there were rumors about a potential rebranding of the base model as Galaxy S26 “Pro” and introducing a Galaxy S26 Edge. However, due to poor sales of the Edge, Samsung has reverted back to the “Plus” designation.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus Specifications

Although specifics on major upgrades are limited, the Galaxy S26 Plus is expected to retain a similar design to its predecessor. It will feature a 6.66-inch display, slightly smaller than the Galaxy S25 Plus’s 6.7-inch screen.

Samsung was considering adopting an OLED panel from the canceled Galaxy S26 Edge but chose to stick with a display akin to the previous iteration.

Release Date for Galaxy S26

The Galaxy S26 series is speculated to launch on February 25th, 2026. The Galaxy Unpacked event will take place at 7 PM Central European Time (10 AM PT / 1 PM ET). Pre-orders are likely to start shortly thereafter, with availability projected for March 11th.

This date marks a deviation from Samsung’s typical Friday release schedule, as March 11th falls on a Wednesday. This change may be related to the delayed introduction of the Galaxy S26 Edge model.

Potential Price Increase

Recent discussions suggest that Samsung may consider raising prices for its Galaxy S26 series. The company is facing pressures from a global memory shortage, leading to increased production costs.

Samsung Electronics co-CEO TM Roh acknowledged that price hikes are “inevitable.” Marketing president Wonjin Lee reiterated these concerns, indicating rising memory prices will influence product pricing. This situation may impact consumers, although Samsung aims to minimize the burden of cost increases.
