West Midlands Roads, part of Transport for West Midlands, announced the closure on the social media platform X shortly after 11:30 GMT. The affected access points include:

• Spaghetti Junction
• Gravelly Hill
• Park Circus
• Dartmouth Circus

As a temporary solution, drivers are being advised to redirect their journeys via Lichfield Road.

Recent History of Closures

Earlier in the month, the Aston Expressway experienced a similar closure in both directions between Park Circus and Dartmouth Circus. At that time, the closure was attributed to a technical fault identified by National Highways.
