The 30-year-old forward is in the final year of a two-year contract worth $3 million, averaging $1.5 million annually. Following this season, he is set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.
Throughout his career, Sherwood has accumulated 121 points, consisting of 60 goals and 61 assists, over 309 regular-season games. He has also participated in eight playoff games, during which he recorded two points (one goal, one assist).
