Two PPB Officers Shot in Sullivan’s Gulch, Ongoing Search for Suspects
On January 19, 2026, two Portland Police Bureau (PPB) officers were shot in the Sullivan’s Gulch neighborhood while responding to an armed threat. The incident occurred at approximately 8:21 p.m. near Northeast 21st Avenue and Northeast Clackamas Street.

Upon arrival, officers confronted the suspect, who opened fire, injuring two officers. The officers were quickly transported to a local hospital, where they are reported to be in stable condition.

Following the shooting, law enforcement set up an extensive perimeter in an effort to locate the suspect. The Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT), along with the Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) and Air Support Unit, joined the search.
