Palm Beach County Schools Closed for Martin Luther King Day?
Palm Beach County schools will be closed on Monday, January 19, 2024, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. This closure offers students, teachers, and staff a chance to enjoy a three-day weekend, honoring the legacy of the revered civil rights leader.
Events Celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. Day
A variety of events will take place across Palm Beach County to commemorate Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Notably, the MLK Coordinating Committee will host its annual scholarship breakfast at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. This event, supported by the Black Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches, aims to raise funds for local student scholarships and grants for community organizations.
School Calendar Highlights
In addition to the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday, students will enjoy another break on Wednesday, February 18, 2024. Following that, spring break will occur from Monday, March 16, to Monday, March 23, 2024, with an extra day off on the following Monday.
