Blue Jays Wear Commemorative Patch for 50th Season Celebration
In a significant announcement, the Toronto Blue Jays revealed they will don a commemorative patch during their 2026 season. This year marks the team’s 50th anniversary in Major League Baseball.
Details of the Commemorative Patch
The patch will be featured on the Blue Jays’ regular uniforms as well as on their hats in the City Connect series. It pays tribute to the team’s various logos from the past, incorporating the original split font used during the inaugural 1977 season.
The color scheme of the patch includes:
- Vintage turquoise
- Royal blue
- Modern red
These colors connect the franchise’s history with its present. Additionally, a gold outline celebrates the landmark 50th anniversary.
Celebrations at Rogers Centre
The Rogers Centre will also feature eight installations in the 100-level concourse. These installations will highlight significant players, moments, and milestones in the franchise’s history. A separate display will commemorate achievements and artifacts from the Blue Jays’ championship seasons in 1992 and 1993.
Upcoming Events
Fans can look forward to an on-field ceremony on March 27, coinciding with the home opener against the Oakland Athletics. This event will celebrate the team’s 50 years in Major League Baseball, as well as the Blue Jays’ accomplishment of winning the 2025 AL pennant.
More details about additional milestone days and special promotions will be announced later. The Blue Jays’ 50th season is shaping up to be a historic celebration.
