MVC Alumna Paloma Ramirez Celebrates On-Court Progress at UC Merced
Paloma Ramirez, a standout player from Monte Vista Christian School, is making waves at UC Merced’s women’s basketball team. During her collegiate career, Ramirez has secured significant accolades, establishing herself as one of the top players in her conference.
Remarkable Accomplishments
In just over three seasons with the Bobcats, Ramirez has earned two “Of the Year” awards in the California Pacific Conference. She was named the Sixth Player of the Year in her junior season, a notable achievement as UC Merced transitioned from NAIA to NCAA Division II.
Career Progression
Ramirez started her college journey strong, being recognized as the Freshman of the Year in 2022-23. Since then, her playing style has evolved, showcasing her versatility on the court.

As she approaches her final games, Ramirez reflects on her time in the sport with gratitude. “I’ll probably cry my eyes out after my last game,” she says. “I’ve been playing my entire life. I really love this game.”
