Mario Brisebois, a revered sports journalist, has passed away. Born in 1953, he became a prominent figure in the Quebec sports community, focusing primarily on golf, skiing, and tennis. Throughout his illustrious career, he dedicated 36 years to the Journal de Montréal and contributed to 98.5 FM and RDS.

Career and Achievements

Brisebois’s impact extended far beyond journalism. He collaborated with several organizations, including:

In his youth, he distinguished himself on the golf courses, notably at Shawinigan Golf Club. In 1970, he represented Golf Québec at the Williamson Cup held at Aronimink Golf Club in Philadelphia. Brisebois also served as a caddy for Jocelyne Bourassa during her LPGA victory in 1973 at the La Canadienne tournament.

Recognition and Legacy

In 2018, Mario Brisebois was inducted into the Quebec Golf Hall of Fame, acknowledging his exceptional contributions. He was also recognized by the International Ski Federation (FIS) as an outstanding commentator. Additionally, he received the title of Journalist of the Year from Tennis Québec and was inducted into the Quebec Tennis Hall of Fame for his role as a builder in the sport.
