FC Porto Launch Swift Bid to Secure Fábio Silva

The winter transfer window in Portugal is set to close soon, with FC Porto aiming to strengthen its offensive lineup. The deadline is at 11:59 PM on February 2nd, 2025. According to reports, Porto’s management, led by André Villas-Boas, is prioritizing a move for forward Fábio Silva.

FC Porto’s Interest in Fábio Silva

Fábio Silva has struggled to showcase his skills at Borussia Dortmund. The German club invested approximately €22.5 million to acquire him from Wolverhampton last summer. Wolverhampton previously purchased Silva from Porto for €40 million in 2020.

This season, Silva has only netted one goal and provided five assists across 21 official matches. FC Porto is considering a loan option to bring him back to Estádio do Dragão.

Alternative Target: Terem Moffi

If a move for Silva does not materialize, FC Porto is also eyeing Terem Moffi. The Nigerian forward has faced difficulties at Nice, where he has not played since November 30, 2024. This absence followed a defeat against Lorient, during which fan unrest led to incidents involving player assaults.

  • Moffi’s current contract with Nice runs until June 2027.
  • The 26-year-old has filed a request for unilateral contract termination.
  • The Italian coach Francesco Farioli may facilitate Moffi’s exit if his contract is annulled.

Both potential signings underline FC Porto’s strategic focus on enhancing their front line as the transfer deadline approaches.
