The minivan had departed from Thessaloniki, Greece, en route to France. The fans intended to attend an Europa League match featuring PAOK and Lyon. A total of ten passengers were aboard the vehicle at the time of the crash.
Fatalities and Injuries

Accident Circumstances
The crash happened around 1 p.m. on the E70 highway, between the towns of Caransebes and Lugojel. Dashcam footage revealed the minivan attempting to overtake another vehicle before colliding head-on with an oncoming truck.
Romanian fire services responded promptly, deploying multiple vehicles to the scene. Their statement confirmed that the accident involved a minivan, a truck, a tanker, and a passenger vehicle.

Authorities are currently investigating the accident while Greek embassy officials are en route to Romania. The scene is located about seven hours from Bucharest.
Head of the Romanian Civil Protection, Raed Arafat, noted that weather conditions hindered the operation of emergency helicopters.
