Breeze Expands with 14 New Routes, Adding 4 Cities
Breeze Airways is set to enhance its operations with the addition of 14 new routes, incorporating four cities into its network. This expansion will commence in May 2023, introducing three new destinations and reinstating one previously served location.
Breeze Airways New Routes and Destinations
The new cities joining the Breeze route map are:
- Atlantic City International Airport (ACY) in New Jersey
- Brownsville/South Padre Island International Airport (BRO) in Texas
- Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS) in Nassau, Bahamas
- San Antonio International Airport (SAT) in Texas (returning service)
Route Highlights
This significant expansion includes seasonal and year-round routes. Breeze’s entry into ACY and BRO will diversify the airline options in these markets. Previously, ACY had been served exclusively by Spirit Airlines for nearly a decade until Allegiant Air entered the market last year.
In BRO, the new service will complement existing routes served by United Airlines and American Airlines. Additionally, small airline Aerus connects Brownsville to Monterrey International Airport in Mexico.
Details of New Routes
Here are some key new routes and their start dates:
- ACY to Charleston International Airport (CHS): Starts May 6, two weekly flights (Wednesdays and Saturdays), fares from $49 one way.
- ACY to Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU): Starts June 11, two weekly flights (Thursdays and Sundays), fares from $39 one way.
- BRO to Orlando International Airport (MCO): Starts May 15, two weekly flights (Mondays and Fridays), fares from $79 one way.
- NAS to Tampa International Airport (TPA): Starts June 10, two weekly flights (Thursdays and Sundays), fares from $99 one way.
Expansion Impact on Existing Cities
Other cities will also benefit from new routes. For instance, Raleigh and Louisville will each see three additional routes, expanding Breeze’s offerings significantly. Louisville will have 38 nonstop routes available, while Raleigh will serve nine routes.
Breeze’s model aims to connect frequently underserved markets, focusing on leisure travelers. Many services consist of just two flights weekly, making them conveniently accessible. Notably, Breeze also enhances its passenger experience with first-class seating options that distinguish it from lower-cost carriers.
Statements from Breeze Airways
David Neeleman, founder of Breeze, emphasized the importance of catering to underserved destinations. He stated that the direct service reconnects travelers with unique, elevated travel experiences.
As Breeze Airways initiates this expansion, travelers can look forward to new connections and competitive pricing, marking another step in the airline’s growth strategy.
