Julia Garner is joining Charlize Theron in the upcoming Amazon thriller, Tyrant. Directed by David Weil, this film is set to begin production later this year. Both actresses are now confirmed for the lead roles.

The project is being produced by The Picture Company, with Alex Heineman and Andrew Rona leading the efforts. Charlize Theron will also produce the film through her production company, Secret Menu, alongside partners Beth Kono and A.J. Dix. Project Acquisition and Development
Tyrant was secured by Amazon and The Picture Company in August after a competitive bidding process. The film was fast-tracked following Theron’s commitment at the end of 2022. Once she joined, the search for her co-star intensified, ultimately leading to Garner’s casting.
