Medcem and Europort Forge Cement Partnership in Antwerp

Euroports has established a significant partnership with Medcem Cement Group, Turkey’s largest cement producer and exporter. This collaboration is anchored at the TA168 Fertilisers and Minerals Terminal located in the Port of Antwerp-Bruges.

Impact of the Partnership on Antwerp

This alliance is pivotal for Euroports as it strategically diversifies into industrial minerals. It also reinforces Antwerp’s status as a prominent European logistics hub for key commodities. Medcem operates one of the largest cement plants globally, exporting approximately 90% of its production to over 20 countries. This makes Medcem Turkey’s foremost cement exporter.

Key Details of the Partnership

The partnership commenced with the successful unloading of the first Medcem vessel in December 2025. This shipment delivered 20,000 tons of CEM I 52.5 N cement, demonstrating the terminal’s capability for large-scale cement handling. This initial operation sets a foundation for increased volumes in the future.
