Stefon Diggs Expects to Stay Unless Patriots Withdraw Offer

Wide receiver Stefon Diggs is gearing up for another season with the New England Patriots, despite recent uncertainties. After ending his first year with the team without a Super Bowl title, Diggs remains optimistic about his future in Foxborough.

Stefon Diggs’ 2024 Performance

In his first season with the Patriots, Diggs signed a three-year contract as a free agent. He overcame a torn ACL sustained in 2024 to achieve remarkable statistics:

  • 85 receptions
  • 1,013 receiving yards
  • 4 touchdowns

This performance marked the seventh 1,000-yard season of his career and the first such season for a Patriots receiver since 2019.

Contract Situation and Future Plans

The Patriots have a financial decision to make regarding Diggs. By releasing the wide receiver, they could save $16.8 million of his $26.5 million salary cap hit. However, Diggs expressed his desire to remain with the team: “I anticipate being here, so I hope so,” he stated. He added, “Love my guys. I had a hell of a year playing with them. Built some real family-like bond.”

While Diggs had a quieter performance in the Super Bowl, his overall contributions during the season support his case for another year with the Patriots. The organization has time to finalize its plans for Diggs as they look ahead to the 2026 season.
