Injuries Impacting His Career
Wright’s bright future faced challenges due to injuries. After showcasing his talent in 2022, he was limited to only nine appearances in the 2023 season. Following shoulder surgery at the end of that year, he transitioned from the Braves to the Kansas City Royals during the 2023-24 offseason. Unfortunately, he did not appear in any major league games while with the Royals.

Wright’s time in the Kansas City organization was marred by setbacks. He missed the entire 2024 season while recovering from surgery. Although he aimed for a comeback in 2025, he faced difficulty with shoulder fatigue that kept him on the injured list until late June. The Royals opted to send him to Triple-A, where he later sustained an oblique injury, further complicating his path back to the majors.
