ESPN Secures New MLB.TV Service Deal: Key Details Revealed

Major League Baseball (MLB) fans have recently received important updates regarding the MLB.TV streaming service. ESPN has officially taken over the rights to provide this out-of-market game package, resulting in new pricing structures for subscribers.

ESPN’s MLB.TV Subscription Pricing

This season, fans subscribed to ESPN’s Unlimited plan will enjoy MLB.TV at a reduced rate of $134.99. For those without the Unlimited plan, the cost remains at $149.99, the same as in previous seasons. A notable addition is a free month of the ESPN Unlimited plan for new MLB.TV subscribers.

Additionally, a monthly subscription option for MLB.TV is available at $29.99. New subscribers can still receive a complimentary month of ESPN Unlimited with their purchase.

Streaming Availability and Features

As the season begins, MLB.TV subscribers in the U.S. can watch a variety of out-of-market games. They will also have access to MLB Big Inning and content on ESPN and MLB digital platforms. Fans subscribed to services like Spectrum, DirecTV, Fubo TV, Hulu Live TV, and Verizon Fios are also granted ESPN Unlimited as part of their TV plans.

  • Monthly ESPN networks fee for cord-cutters: $29.25
  • In-market streaming is available for specific teams through MLB’s website.

Teams with In-Market Streaming

The following 14 teams offer their games via in-market streaming:

  • Arizona Diamondbacks
  • Cincinnati Reds
  • Cleveland Guardians
  • Colorado Rockies
  • Detroit Tigers
  • Kansas City Royals
  • Miami Marlins
  • Milwaukee Brewers
  • Minnesota Twins
  • San Diego Padres
  • St. Louis Cardinals
  • Seattle Mariners
  • Tampa Bay Rays
  • Washington Nationals

The Athletics, Philadelphia Phillies, and San Francisco Giants also provide in-market streaming, even though their broadcasts are handled by NBC Sports Network.

ESPN’s New Agreement with MLB

ESPN’s acquisition of MLB.TV is part of a three-year deal with the league. This agreement allows ESPN to showcase 30 exclusive games, primarily targeting weeknight broadcasts in the summer. Notably, MLB is the second league to have its out-of-market digital package available on ESPN, following the NHL’s transition in 2021.

While popular features like multiview and integrated stats will still be accessible, the home and away radio feeds will not be part of ESPN’s offerings this season.

The Seattle Mariners are scheduled for 13 national TV games during the 2026 season, making them a prominent team in this year’s MLB.TV offerings.
