City Operations and Services
Halifax has implemented a winter parking ban from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. on Thursday to facilitate snow removal. Municipal offices will close early Wednesday at 3 p.m., and employees who can work remotely are encouraged to do so.
- Essential Services: The 311 service, winter operations, and Halifax Transit will continue regular operations.
- Transit Routes: Snow routes are activated for Halifax Transit buses to ensure safe travel.
- Dartmouth Ferries: Currently unaffected by the storm.
Public Facilities and Education Closures
Several public facilities are also impacted by the winter storm:
- Recreation Facilities: Most will close at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
- Public Libraries: All branches will close at 3 p.m.
- Schools: All schools in the Tri-County, South Shore, and Annapolis Valley regions were closed on Wednesday. Additionally, East Hants, Advocate, and Parrsboro schools in the Chignecto Central region also closed.
