EGYPTAIR Welcomes First Airbus A350-900 in 16-Aircraft Deal
EGYPTAIR has received its first Airbus A350-900, marking a significant milestone for the airline and the North African aviation industry. This delivery is part of a broader deal that includes 16 A350-900 aircraft.
Aircraft Details and Configuration
This new aircraft will enhance EGYPTAIR’s long-haul capabilities and facilitate network expansion. Notably, it is set to establish new non-stop routes from Cairo to major destinations, including the US West Coast and North Asia.
The Airbus A350-900 features a modern two-class layout:
- 30 Business Class suites with direct aisle access
- 310 Economy Class seats
The state-of-the-art Airspace cabin design significantly improves the travel experience for passengers and crew alike.
Performance and Environmental Impact
The Airbus A350 is renowned as one of the most advanced widebody aircraft globally. It can fly up to 9,700 nautical miles (18,000 kilometers) without stopping, making it ideal for intercontinental travel.
Equipped with the latest Rolls-Royce engines, the A350 boasts a 25% improvement in fuel efficiency, operating costs, and CO₂ emissions compared to older models. Furthermore, it supports the use of up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), aligning with the industry’s move toward sustainability. Airbus aims to enable its aircraft to operate on 100% SAF by 2030.
EGYPTAIR’s Fleet Overview
Currently, EGYPTAIR operates a diverse fleet that includes:
- Eight Airbus A320neos
- Seven Airbus A321neos
- Eleven A330 Family aircraft, which includes five A330-200P2F

With over 1,500 orders placed worldwide for the A350 Family by 67 different customers as of January 2026, EGYPTAIR’s acquisition positions it as a leader in modern aviation in the region.
