Victor Dodig to Succeed Retiring Telus CEO Darren Entwistle in June
Darren Entwistle, the long-standing CEO of Telus Corp., is set to retire on June 30, 2026. His successor will be Victor Dodig, a current board member and the former CEO of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC).
Leadership Transition at Telus
Entwistle joined Telus in 2000. Under his leadership, the company evolved from a regional telecom provider into a leading digital enterprise with international operations. Over the last 25 years, Telus has seen its enterprise value increase dramatically, surpassing $57 billion.

Victor Dodig’s Appointment
Victor Dodig, who served as president and CEO of CIBC from 2014 to 2025, will take over leadership at Telus. He is enthusiastic about building upon Entwistle’s legacy. “I am excited to build on Darren’s legacy and lead Telus in its exciting next chapter,” said Dodig.
To facilitate a smooth transition, Entwistle will remain as an advisor to Dodig until April 2027. The board chair, John Manley, acknowledged Entwistle’s transformative impact on the company, emphasizing the profound gratitude for his leadership during his tenure.
