Fowler, Lee, Bradley Shine at Pebble Beach After Putter Updates
The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am is witnessing a competitive showdown as the tournament heads into the weekend. Leading the charge is Rickie Fowler, currently positioned at 14-under, just a stroke behind joint leaders Akshay Bhatia and Ryo Hisatsune. This marks Fowler’s best 36-hole performance in a PGA Tour event since his victory at the 2023 Rocket Classic.
Recent Putter Updates
Fowler has made notable updates to his putting equipment. He transitioned from his L.A.B Golf DF3 putter to a center-shafted Scotty Cameron Golo putter, a model he first incorporated into his setup in 2012. His latest performance with the Golo at a TGL event in January has prompted its continuous use throughout the PGA tournaments.
In his recent outings, Fowler finished T18 at both The American Express and the WM Phoenix Open and is now T3 going into the final weekend at Pebble Beach. His putting statistics are looking promising; he ranks 44th in Strokes Gained: Putting on the PGA Tour this season, showing a significant improvement from previous years.
- 2024 Strokes Gained: Putting: 66th, averaging +0.136
- 2025 Strokes Gained: Putting: 77th, averaging +0.085
- 2026 Strokes Gained: Putting: 44th, averaging +0.511
Equipment Changes
In addition to his putter, Fowler’s equipment changes include the new Cobra OPTM X driver and fairway woods, along with Cobra 3DP MB irons. He is currently ranked 21st in Strokes Gained: Off the Tee and 2nd in Strokes Gained: Approach the Green.
Other Players in Contention
Fowler is not alone in making changes to his flatstick. Min Woo Lee and Keegan Bradley have both opted for new putters ahead of this significant event. Lee has switched out his Odyssey Square 2 Square Jailbird for an Odyssey prototype putter, which features four movable weights and a slant neck hosel. He has made an impressive showing, ranked 10th in Strokes Gained: Putting through two rounds.
Bradley, who is currently tied for 10th at 10-under, has moved to an Odyssey Ai Dual 1/2-Ball Jailbird Cruiser putter, which previously guided Nacho Elvira to victory at the Dubai Invitational. This adjustment comes on the heels of a disappointing T43 finish at the Farmers Insurance Open. As a result of the switch, Bradley is now 21st in Strokes Gained: Putting for the week.
Current Standings
With the tournament advancing, the trio of Fowler, Lee, and Bradley are all positioned within the top 10 at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am. They are all aiming for their first top-10 finishes of the PGA Tour season. Currently, Bhatia and Hisatsune lead with scores of 15-under as the final rounds approach at the iconic Pebble Beach layout.
