Event-Filled Family Day Awaits Kelowna Residents

Kelowna residents are set to enjoy an exciting and event-filled Family Day. The local community is invited to take part in numerous activities organized by several notable venues.

Family Day Activities in Kelowna

Multiple organizations, including the Kelowna Art Gallery, Okanagan Heritage Museum, and Rotary Centre for the Arts, will host special events. These activities promise fun and entertainment for all ages.

MNP Place Events

MNP Place will feature a variety of engaging activities from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Residents can enjoy:

  • Bouncy castle play at Park & Play
  • Active games and scavenger hunts for sports enthusiasts
  • Ice skating (helmets required)

Admission to these activities is free, but donations to Central Okanagan Search and Rescue are welcomed. Additionally, a booth for the BC Summer Games will be present to recruit volunteers for future events.

Art and Culture at the Kelowna Art Gallery

The Kelowna Art Gallery will showcase unique art exhibitions open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Families can explore:

  • Floor Opener: Giant 9-foot-tall paintings by Lawrence Paul Yuxweluptun Lets’lo:tseltun.
  • The Tree Planters: Dramatic photographs by Rita Leistner depicting tree planting in British Columbia.
  • Stir the Pot: A hands-on activity focusing on food heritage, family recipes, and cooking traditions. Pre-registration is recommended due to limited space.

Visitors can also participate in the Art Lab, a self-guided activity fostering creativity with provided materials.

Family Day Passport

Families can enhance their experience by obtaining a Family Day passport. This passport allows participants to collect stamps as they engage in various activities and enter for a chance to win a gift basket. Passports can be picked up at:
