Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-40 Claims Driver’s Life, KPD Reports
A tragic multi-vehicle crash on I-40 has resulted in the death of a driver, according to the Knoxville Police Department (KPD). The incident occurred on a Thursday afternoon, around 4:50 PM.
Details of the Crash
The collision took place on I-40 West, near Cedar Bluff Road. Initial reports indicate that a vehicle had come to a stop due to traffic. This car was then rear-ended by another vehicle.
Chain Reaction Incident
As the situation escalated, a third vehicle collided with the second car, triggering a chain-reaction crash. Subsequently, a large pickup truck drove into and on top of one of the vehicles involved in the incident.
Victim Information
Unfortunately, the driver of the car that was struck fatally succumbed to his injuries. KPD has not yet released the identity of the deceased.
