StubHub’s ‘Access: New York’ Fund Sends Youth to Statewide Events
StubHub has launched a significant initiative called StubHub Access: New York. This program commits $100,000 to provide complimentary tickets for live events to youth clubs and groups across New York State. Nominations for eligible teams and groups are now open, with announcements expected this spring.
Program Details
Through StubHub Access: New York, coaches, parents, teachers, and community leaders can nominate youth teams, clubs, or groups for free tickets to professional sporting events in their area. Selected groups will also have the opportunity to attend matches during the 2026 FIFA World Cup at MetLife Stadium.
Goals of the Initiative
Michael DeLoach, StubHub’s Global Head of Government Relations, emphasized the importance of access to live events. “Every kid should have the chance to experience a game that could inspire a lifelong passion for sports,” he stated. The initiative aims to ensure that all young people, regardless of their financial situation or zip code, can enjoy these experiences.
Eligibility and Nomination Process
Nominations are accepted at www.stubhub.com/accessny. Adults aged 18 and older can submit nominations through a quick online form. Basic information required includes:
- Team location
- Age group
- A brief description of why the team deserves the experience
Submissions will be reviewed based on criteria such as geographic diversity, community need, and representation from various sports and demographics.
Support for Underserved Communities
StubHub intends to prioritize nominations from underserved communities and under-resourced programs, as attending professional sporting events may be financially prohibitive for many families. The company believes that access to live events should be universal.
Ongoing Community Commitment
This initiative marks StubHub’s largest community investment in New York to date. According to the company, 90% of the tickets available on StubHub are priced under $100, reinforcing their commitment to accessibility.
Recipients of the tickets will be announced in phases throughout the spring and summer of 2026, reflecting the program’s goal of inclusivity across New York State, from the Bronx to Buffalo.
